Dictator on Day One

In late 2023, when then candidate Donald Trump was asked by Sean Hannity to confirm for his liberal critics that he wouldn’t be a dictator in his second term, Trump responded with a cheeky, “Except for day one.”  Of course, what he was referring to was using executive orders to undo the scores of Biden’s executive orders that circumvented the legislative process and unconstitutionally made policies that weakened America.  The straw-grasping media seized upon this statement, fully disemboweling its context, and feverishly peddled the narrative for the next year that Trump admitted in his own words that he would be a “dictator on day one.”

Despite having no basis in reality, it became the marching song for dubiously gendered MSNBC pundits as well as the frenzied bovines of The View.  Fortunately, only their dwindling audience of willfully misinformed viewers believed such propaganda, and Trump went on to be the first Republican in twenty years to win the popular vote. Now, the actions that he will immediately take will be a complete turnaround for the country in such areas as border security, energy production, healthcare, and global trade.

Executive orders can serve many different functions.  Some EO’s are used to lay out expectations for cabinet secretaries and agency directors. Others prioritize legislation for Congress. Some attempt to walk a fine line, which is the separation of powers between the executive and legislative branches when it comes to making law. For Trump, they will all set the tone for his second term, which will undoubtedly be one of strength, prosperity, and putting America first.

Here are 14 executive orders that can be expected day one:

  1. Shut down the border. The Border Patrol and ICE will finally be allowed to enforce immigration laws and begin mass deportation of illegal immigrants.
  2. Approve drilling permits and land leases for energy production revoked by the Biden Administration. Tear up the Paris Climate Agreement. Lift the pause on LNG exports. Remove oppressive emission standards, restrict wind energy development, and probably a dozen other energy related directives.
  3. Reverse Biden’s reversal of Trump’s order to not count illegal immigrants in the census.
  4. Reinstitute the so called “Muslim Ban” which restricts travel to the US for nationals from countries affected by Islamic terrorism.
  5. Resume construction of the US-Mexico border wall.
  6. Reimpose the “Remain in Mexico” policy, which requires asylum seekers to remain in Mexico until their case can be heard and likely denied by a judge.
  7. Reverse all of Biden’s directives involving DEI and CRT. No more equity-based hiring, promotions, or training. Schools teaching CRT will not get funding.
  8. No more Covid vaccine mandates. All servicemen and women who were fired for not getting the experimental vaccine will be reinstated with full pay and rank. Abolish all gain of function research. Launch an investigation into the origins of Covid and the lies surrounding it.
  9. While not technically an EO, Trump should issue a pardon for all of the January 6th political prisoners. These people were robbed of their constitutional rights because of their political beliefs. They should be given freedom and restitution immediately.
  10. Trump is likely to implement a smorgasbord of tariffs, particularly against Mexico as leverage in border security negotiations.
  11. Nix the electric vehicle mandate, which was Biden’s directive to have 50% of cars be “zero emission” by 2030. This was always a painfully stupid order, highlighting the fact that Democrats haven’t the slightest clue where electricity comes from.
  12. Ban men who think they are women from women’s sports. In fact, I hope the order says those words exactly.
  13. On the same topic, ban “gender affirming care,” also known as mutilation and sterilization, for minors.
  14. Sanctions against Iran.  Nail them to the wall. Bankrupt the top sponsor of terrorism like Trump did in his first term before Biden gave their economy a renaissance.

The work to undo the damage inflicted upon our Republic by the socialists and globalists pulling Biden’s strings will be immense. Fortunately, what can be done with the stroke of the Executive’s pen can be undone by it as well.

The healing of America begins tomorrow.
