Shenna Bellows is the face (and haircut) of the modern fascist left. The Secretary of State for Maine might look relatively inoccuous, like the annoying PTA mom you try to avoid at your kid’s soccer game, but she is a greater threat to our Republic than any foreign adversary or individual crossing our border illegally. This is because she has the ability and willingness to undermine our freedoms from inside the system.
A negligible, stepping-stone position historically, the Secretary of State has grown more powerful since Democrats began usurping powers denied to them in Article 1 Section 4 of the Constitution. This particular trampling of our founding document was prevalent in 2020 when Democrats needed a more expedient path to dissolving election security laws under the guise of Covid precautions. Now, instead of state legislatures deciding election law, as Constitutionally prescribed, rogue state officials like Bellows have begun waving wands to seismically impact national elections. In this instance, Bellows unilaterally scratched Trump’s name off Maine’s ballot simply because she thought he shouldn’t be on there.
It takes a certain type of individual to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of voters and feel you have done the right thing. The necessary cocktail of ignorance, arrogance, and narcissism is a combination of character flaws that can only be found in a Democrat ladder climbers such as Bellows. I am reminded of the C.S. Lewis quote that inspired this blog:
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
Michigan kept Trump on the ballot. Even California kept Trump on the ballot. Colorado put him back on after realizing their mistake. Yet this unelected autocrat anointed herself ballot bouncer and has since been given the red carpet treatment by fellow communism enthusiasts at CNN and MSNBC.
It is this type of elitist arrogance that makes fools like Bellows declare sanctuary state status or a war on fossil fuels. It matters not what her constituents want. She knows what is best, and she will force feed it to her plebeians. Again, anytime Democrats talk about saving democracy, they really mean preserving their own power. And so, if saving democracy means destroying democracy, then so be it.
