While America has many problems that deserve the attention of her citizens, it is clear that all other political topics are becoming subordinate to one issue, because without its resolution we have no country about which to worry. This topic is making waves on X right now due to some comments made by Rep. Andy Ogles this week. The issue is the rise of Islam in America, and this conversation is long overdue.
Over the past 25 years, the Muslim population in America has approximately doubled. Combine that fact with the well established incompatibility of Islam with Western Culture and it is understandable why many Americans are uneasy. The more one learns about Islam, the subjugation and abuse of women, child marriage, and the barbarity of Sharia Law, and that discomfort turns into alarm pretty quickly. By both words and deeds, the message from Muslim immigrants is that they are not here to assimilate, but to conquer. They are not exactly shy about it.
Americans should understand that the goal of a global Islamic caliphate is not a new concept. Muslims immigrate, demand tolerance, build their numbers, infiltrate positions of power, then convert or kill infidels. This has been standard practice for 1400 years, but has only recently become a credible threat to the US after mass migration led to terrifying success of this strategy across Europe. Should America fail to address this threat, and ultimately fall under the sword of Sharia, our once great nation would become the largest trophy on the shelf of Islamic rule. Other former Christian countries on that list would include Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan, Iraq, and Libya. If none of those nations are on your vacation bucket list, that is because Islamic rule typically brings centuries of injustice, corruption, poverty, violence, and death.
To this point, it is fair to say that Americans have been tolerant to a fault of the refusal by Muslim immigrants to assimilate to American culture. Islamic calls to prayer wailing over loudspeakers at 5AM have been met with a few complaints to apathetic city councils. Transparent attempts by military age males to establish dominance through large prayer gatherings in city squares or in streets blocking traffic have been shrugged off by police and mayors. The US has yet to even establish a burqa ban, unlike in France, Belgium, Denmark, and half a dozen other European countries who have done so, citing obvious security concerns.
Americans have watched as some of their communities in MI and TX have become unrecognizable. They find that their children are being taught the Quran in school, and they see their politicians enthusiastically embracing “hijab day.” Democrats have welcomed much of this transformation as a promise of new voters. Unable to see past their next election, they recognize that just about all Muslims vote Democrat, at least for now. When numbers suffice, the Muslims will split off and form their own party, just as they have in the Netherlands.
So what? What is the harm? Diversity is our strength, they say. But Americans know better from experience.
Just this past week, all of the following happened. A Muslim shot up a bar in Austin, TX, killing 2. There was a flight from Nashville to Fort Lauderdale diverted to Atlanta because of a midair bomb threat. There was an attempted terrorist attack in NYC by two Muslims using an IED made of nails.. In a Dearborn mosque, prayers were recorded for Allah to kill every Jew, Christian, and American on the planet. And just today a synagogue in MI as well as ODU in VA were attacked by jihadists. As these threats and attacks become more common, what is noticeably absent is any condemnation from the so-called peaceful Muslim community. Where are the voices disowning the terrorists and saying this is not real Islam?
They are no where, because it is.
Americans should not be expected to live among people who wish for their death, but saying so publicly can apparently get you in trouble. Rep. Andy Ogles (TN), a member of the Sharia-Free America caucus, tweeted “Muslims don’t belong in American society” just after the most recent bomb attack from the religion of peace. The self righteous responses of feigned moral outrage were immediate and relentless from both sides.
The left, of course, started with their hysterical refrain of Islamophobia, a word now exclusively reserved for race hustlers and imbeciles. People using that word should be immediately classed with people who list pronouns in their bio, and just as quickly dismissed as unserious adults incapable of meaningful debate. The current Democrat approach to addressing Islamic violence is to call the people who are getting bombs thrown at them “white supremacists,” turning the actual victims into oppressors. If your response to criticism of Islam is a knee-jerk accusation of bigotry, you are part of the problem and will never be part of the solution.
From the right, Ogles received some praise for having the courage to finally say what needed to be said, but he also received dose after dose of first amendment zeal, and I should like to address those criticisms now. Yes, the first amendment enshrines freedom of speech. It does not, however, protect insurrection, nor calls to engage in violent jihad to achieve Islamic rule, replacing our Constitution with Sharia Law. While the bar is quite high to prove a criminal case of insurrection and words alone are not enough, they are more than enough to suspend a visa and deport Muslims who have shown support for terrorist activities or organizations. It is this arena where much more can be done to remove hostile Islamists from our borders. Our FBI should work with ICE to investigate Mosques, monitor social media, and draw a hard line for proper behavior for guests of this country.
Additionally, the first amendment does protect freedom of religion, but let me state this as clearly as I possibly can. Islam is not simply a religion, but an all-encompassing ideology, complete with its own barbaric laws (rape and striking your wife are permissible), as well as a complete intolerance for the freedoms of others. Insult a Muslim’s “religion,” and their “religion” says they should kill you. We don’t need “religion” like this in our country. By this same argument, if the descendants of Aztecs in America were to revive their practice of human sacrifice, we should be glad to allow the involuntary removal of hearts from virgins because, you know, freedom of religion and all.
As Americans, we are under no first amendment obligation to honor any ideology that seeks to destroy our own religious heritage and freedoms. We should stop tolerating the intolerant immediately. Islam is toxic to our American live and let live values and we cannot allow our communities to fall under its sword because we chose cowardly inaction lazily justified by a cursory interpretation of the first amendment.
We must not engage in the same misplaced and suicidal empathy as Europe, where certain towns are run by Sharia courts, and local police know better than to interfere. We cannot allow that to happen in America. The rise of Islam is a threat to our freedom and culture that we must take very seriously. We must acknowledge that not all cultures are equal, not all immigrants wish to assimilate, and some wish to conquer America and change it forever. We must be willing to say so out loud, then unapologetically and aggressively take action to remove those elements from our country.
What Rep. Ogles said this week is the truth, and if this article moves the ball even an inch towards giving Christian patriots the courage and confidence to publicly acknowledge the harsh reality that Islam is not compatible with American values, that was my goal. We cannot and must not be afraid to say the truth. Ever.
Lastly, this is not about demonizing all Muslims. I have known Muslims who enjoy and respect the freedoms of America. But to ignore that the ideology is collectively an obvious threat to the unity of our country and the safety of our children, even as we can see the future consequences of our inaction play out daily in Europe, is an abysmal dereliction of the duty with which we have all been charged, to preserve the freedoms we inherited for future generations. I leave you with the words of Winston Churchill’s The River War:
“Individual Muslims may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. [The] civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.”
Afterword
Going forward, any politician who advocates for any of the following will have my unflinching support:
1) A ban on all future immigration from Islamic countries, and visa restrictions on Muslim individuals from western countries.
2) A national ban on Mosque construction as well as Islam-only communities. These are not places of worship, they are national security threats, radicalization centers, and operating bases for the Islamic takeover of America.
3) The Declaration of CAIR, the Islamic Brotherhood, and any other similar NGO as terrorist organizations.
4) A specific federal ban on the practice of Sharia Law.
5) An ICE campaign targeting illegal immigrant Muslims allowed into the country during the Biden Administration. Aggressive revocation of visas and removal of Muslims who openly advocate for Sharia Law, call for jihad in any form, or sympathize with terrorist organizations.
Very well said, as always. I hope politicians are listening. Or can read.
