In a functioning Constitutional Republic, we would have more definitive results by now, but there are several races still ongoing in AZ and NV. Ultimate control of the legislative branch may hang in the balance, but here are at least some notable takeaways from Tuesday’s election:
There was a red wave in FL, ripples elsewhere. Republicans will take over the House and maybe even the Senate, but by slim margins. Polling suggested more of a rout, particularly as unpopular as Biden and his agenda are right now with 75% of Americans saying the country is on the wrong track. At bare minimum though, the American Socialists can’t do any more legislative damage to the country as Biden’s agenda will be effectively hogtied, which was the GOP’s main objective.
We may look back at these midterms and say this was the moment DeSantis took the torch from Trump in terms of leading the new school Republican movement. I think any talk of casting Trump aside is premature, but Florida just went from swing state status to fire-engine red as DeSantis’ leadership made the bluest County in FL, Miami-Dade, flip Republican. DeSantis’ stock is through the roof and Florida remains the gold standard for freedom and the best example of Federalism in the country. KTR will certainly have a post coming on the growing feud between Trump and DeSantis which could be very problematic for the GOP in ’24.
Dr. Oz lost to Fetterman as predicted. Combine the fact he was not a great candidate with the intentional lack of election integrity in PA and it was never likely Oz would win. A sea of mail in ballots in Philadelphia carried Shrek to victory, same with Biden in ’20. In another very Pennsylvania story, a dead man was reelected to Congress in PA. Political experts say a special election will be needed to replace him unless his condition remarkably improves.
Warnock and Walker are headed to a Senatorial run off election in GA since neither got 50% of the vote. That two man race will occur in Dec and without Libertarian candidate Oliver, who ostensibly sucked 2% of the vote from the GOP ticket, one would think Walker would be the favorite to win over the commie fake pastor. Assuming either the AZ or NV Senate race goes red, a win in GA would give Republicans a majority in the Senate.
Mediocrity mascots Stacey Abrams and “Beta” O’Rourke both lost (again) in their respective GA and TX contests despite Dems spending $170M on their campaigns. Both are insufferable, talentless degenerates who rose to prominence in the only place they could, the Democrat party. Now let’s never discuss them again.
Elections in certain states continue to be an embarrassment. In Arizona, or Western Pennsylvania as it’s sometimes called, malfunctioning machines coincidentally located in conservative districts and staggeringly dumb election laws have led to no declared winners in the Senate or Governor races as of this post. However, mathematically speaking, it does look like Kari Lake will win and essentially be Governor DeSantis in a dress for AZ. Should she not win, an investigation must be demanded. I look forward to watching her humiliate biased reporters and save the state from Biden’s illegal immigration crisis. Given how poisoned the electorate has become from CA refugees, she has her work cut out for her, but Lake is an unapologetic, extremely intelligent patriot and a true rock star for the America First conservative movement.
One stat I found quite interesting was with women voters. A whopping 68% of unmarried women voted Democrat, compared with only 42% of married women. This is likely a pushback from the Constitutional decision to repeal Roe by the Supreme Court earlier this year. It appears those Handsmaid’s Tale memes circulating the web and the false media narrative surrounding the decision had an impact on younger voters. This stat, more than any other I’ve seen, explains how the Democrats were able to avoid a wave, but I also think it speaks volumes in terms of how your perspective and priorities generally change when you have a family.
Finally, one of the biggest takeaways I had from this election is Republicans better start adopting early voting and vote by mail. Principled by nature, I get that conservatives are against these changes which mock election integrity, but that stance has hurt them in two elections now. Democrats have used these Covid-rationalized measures to their benefit while Republicans have chosen to continue with their 2010 “show up on election day” voting strategy and they’re losing races because of it. While I prefer that they continue to fight to return election regulations to pre-Covid laws, the Republicans need to play the game by the current rules, not the rules they wish were in place.
In Massachusetts…
As expected, I went an impressive 0/4 in MA ballot questions as my state proves once again I don’t belong here. Also not surprising, Maura Healey’s Rainbow Bolshevik campaign cruised to victory getting more than 63% of the vote. Starting with a new millionaire’s tax and illegal immigrant’s getting into car accidents with no insurance, MA residents can count on taxes, regulation and government interference in their lives like never before. The millionaire tax will chase away employers and here is a fun fact. Teacher’s Unions gave $22M of the $26M spent promoting the millionaire tax while the opposition spent $13M. These are the same organizations that tell you there is not enough money to teach math or pay teachers well. The Teacher’s Unions are literally outspending millionaires on political issues that have nothing to do with education. Teacher’s Unions are heartstring-tugging lobbyists for the Democrat party, nothing more.
Regarding public safety, Maura Healey, Andrea Campbell and Rachael Rollins will be a disaster for law enforcement and crime so get your LTC while you can. Just like in New York, Massachusetts families with top quartile income who are just trying to safely live their lives, save some money and raise a couple normie children will flee our woke Commonwealth for a state that feels more like free America. It is often said that citizens get the government they deserve and Massachusetts certainly deserves what it will look like five years from now.
In Summary, a gridlocked DC is good for the country and the capital markets. It will take time to heal the damage that has been done and much rides on the 2024 Presidential race. At the very least, the bleeding has temporarily been stopped and our Republic lives to fight another day.
And now an MSNBC journalist is advocating John Fetterman run for President in 2024. Hard to say if that would be a step up or step down from the current White House occupant.
I saw that! They’re beyond parody at this point, but he might be better than Biden, depending on the day.
