In the past, I have criticized the political left for having no values, standards, or principles.  This week’s supportive evidence of that claim comes in the arrest of former President Trump.  Prosecuting the opposition’s leading Presidential candidate shatters an essential barrier our country has always had against becoming a third-world totalitarian state that defeats its political opponents with arrests instead of free and fair elections. The damage this does to America’s authority and credibility when speaking about freedom, democracy and justice on the world stage is immeasurable.

Joe Biden is the worst President of my lifetime.  However, if he were to launch another basement-dwelling campaign and a corrupt red state DA sought to interfere with the democratic process by conjuring up the most transparent and politically motivated indictment in history, I would stand shoulder to shoulder with the Starbucks reward member MSNBC crowd in protesting such an unconstitutional abuse of power.  Many citizens of liberal persuasion, the kind that once comprised the majority of the Democrat party, have expressed disappointment and disapproval of this perversion of the justice system as it is now being used to attack political counterparts.  However, the modern left is enamored with the current tyrannical state because its powers have been unilaterally wielded against the right.  Investigating people instead of crimes is fine with them as long as the target is someone they don’t like. Moreover, they are not worried about retaliation as they know conservatives respect the system too much to abuse it. No Arkansas DA will be dragging Biden out of the nursing home for a vengeance prosecution when his term is over. In short, the right is disadvantaged in this fight, weighed down by principles the left does not possess.

Leading the attack this time is the doughy and thoroughly unimpressive Manhattan DA, Alvin Bragg, who in a blatant disregard for his oath, campaigned for office on the promise of arresting Donald Trump. When first elected, he originally declined to move forward with such a razor thin case, but some suspect he ultimately succumbed to political pressure.  Bragg is the same DA with a reputation for turning violent thugs loose in NYC due to his Soros-endorsed, criminal-coddling policies.  To weigh Bragg’s record of reducing violent felonies to misdemeanors, allowing dangerous criminals back on the street, against inflating victimless misdemeanors to felonies when it suits his political agenda, shows how corrupt our justice system has become.

Now comes the circus.  This will be the most sensationalized bookkeeping prosecution in history.  The nearly bankrupt Hate-Trump media will once again be able to sell clicks and ad time.  The TDS-crazed Democrats will drone that nobody is above the law, all while pretending the legal origami in which this DA is engaging is not only legitimate, but would be occurring if Trump wasn’t seeking office.  Bragg dusted off a case which was passed over for years by less stupid left wing justice officials who also wanted Trump’s head, but knew there was nothing there. Bragg holds a polished turd in his hands and knows it, but to a communist the end always justifies the means. No matter how this case ends, the left can now giddily declare that Trump has been indicted even though there is nothing behind the indictment. Just like they boasted that Trump was impeached, though there was demonstratively nothing behind his impeachments.

The Democrats are very skilled at distraction and this sideshow will be the media’s excuse for not covering the rapid decay of our Republic brought forth by the Biden Administration.  The tens of thousands of Americans dying each year from fentanyl streaming across the open border, a suicidal energy policy, China’s systematic dismantling of the petrodollar and their growing alliance with Russia, worsening crime, crippling inflation, $32T in debt, a looming recession, election insecurity and of course Biden family corruption – none of that will be covered because Democrats and their loyal media understand that the best defense is a strong offense.

Donald Trump has faced numerous false allegations from Russia collusion to Ukranian quid pro quo to insurrection conspiracy. He’s been smeared and spied on by high-ranking leftist partisans inside the FBI and intel agencies. He’s been targeted by endless corrupt Democrat Committee witch hunts. Donald Trump is the most investigated man in history.  If he truly was a criminal, it would have been discovered long ago by someone a lot sharper than Alvin Bragg. If Trump truly was incompetent, his haters would point to his abysmal record as President, but they can’t. Perhaps that is why the deep state and power ravenous politicians that comprise our ruling class despise him so much and have abused their authority again and again without limit to try to take him down. They have failed repeatedly and honestly, even Trump haters should be suspicious by now of this obsessive pursuit which has poisoned the well of American justice and destroyed the credibility of many three letter organizations that were once respected. This latest effort seems quite desperate, which should probably tell us a lot. It would seem the Democrats have already fired their biggest guns and yet, their target remains.
