The Most Fascinating Takeaway from the Twitter Files

The evidence that has come to light in the Twitter Files Elon Musk has released over the past two weeks has been pretty staggering, despite the mainstream media intentionally ignoring the story.  While the alignment in objectives between social media giants, deep state federal agents and the Democrat party is not exactly an earth-shattering revelation, the degree of coordination between these groups to suppress dissent to their power is more disturbing than many of us imagined.

We’ve learned as many as eighty FBI agents were tasked with monitoring the Twitterverse and letting company execs know precisely which tweets they wanted taken down. Not just the FBI, either. The DHS, Department of Intel Agencies and even the Pentagon determined web content. Some of the banished tweets were supportive of Trump, some pointed out election irregularities, others questioned Covid guidance, some even dared to pass along information regarding Hunter’s laptop from hell and related Biden family corruption.  This intolerable free flow of information was stifled by leftist government officials to help Biden’s election chances, just in case other tactics such as mail in voter fraud proved insufficient. You can read more about this First Amendment butchery here, yet the collection of emails that describe the malevolent surveillance and censorship conducted by corrupt government officials against US citizens is not the most disturbing aspect of this story.

That title is reserved for the fact that even after it has been proven the left deceitfully engages in state-controlled media, where the government determines what information you’re allowed to see, there are still Americans who will regard a vote for Democrats as “defending democracy.”  It is evident that many citizens are not bothered by this Pravda-like spoon-feeding of information from authoritarians who took an oath to do the exact opposite. In fact, many Americans prefer censorship to open debate. They believe it’s only the bad people who are being censored and surely, we can trust the government to tell us who is good and who is bad, who to listen to and who is spreading “misinformation.” They must feel that this formula has worked very well in Russia and North Korea, so to hell with our First Amendment, it’s almost as overrated as the Second.

If it were right wing activists in government censoring free speech, especially to block information critical to an election, I would oppose those offenses equally, but it doesn’t seem to matter to the political left. Katy Perry will still sing “Firework” at DNC events and Hollywood actors and billionaires will keep on moral shaming Americans into voting blue. Democrats will continue to willfully support the big government establishment that relentlessly strips away their freedom and keeps them in the dark. They will knowingly vote for more censorship, more government interference in elections, less transparency and less free speech.  They will vote how the loudest and most powerful voices in the country tell them to vote and they will still consider themselves to be courageous and compassionate members of some resistance.

But they are not the resistance.  They are not raging against any machine.  They are the machine, or rather, they are rusted cog wheels in the machine. They give the most powerful and corrupt people in our society more power and more control over all of our lives and they actually feel benevolent and brave while doing so.  The US Federal Government has demonstrated a virtual monopoly on information as well as the power to silence any opposition to their authority. The fact that so many Americans do not care is truly the most fascinating takeaway from the Twitter Files.
