Few people did not see this one coming. When a “9” breaks up with a “5,” the reaction from most people is, “What took you so long?” For years, Tulsi Gabbard has demonstrated that she is a free-thinking, intelligent and confident woman who does not like to see people marginalized into victim status, nor told how to live her life, with whom to associate, or what to believe. This type of person is simply not congruent with the finger-wagging, censoring, comply-or-be-canceled authoritarians that currently comprise the Democrat party. I first took a shine to Gabbard when she put Kamala Harris at the kids table during the 2020 Democrat Primary Debate, but now she has shown true character in rejecting the Dems’ destructive and hateful agenda.
This is a woman who ran for President as a Democrat just two years ago. Perhaps either in denial or hopeful optimism for a while, Gabbard now understands that this is not your parents’ party of empathetic friends of the common man. This is now the party of elitist woke-scolds who actively oppose freedom and the Constitution. The modern Democrats brought you lockdowns, vaccine mandates, censorship, open borders, $5 gas, despicable racial division, the most heavily armed Taliban in history, 9% inflation, higher taxes, record crime, a politicized and weaponized DOJ, a shiny new proxy war against a Nuclear Power in Ukraine, as well as new definitions for the words vaccine, woman and recession.
Many liberal people agree with Gabbard that enough is enough, but more will still vote Democrat this November. Many will likely remain loyal simply because they’ve always voted Democrat, just like their parents before them. Others cling to the false belief that voting Democrat is just something nice people do because they have been told that Republicans are mean or racist or something. Fortunately, in recent years that moral superiority narrative has fallen apart like wish.com clothing and more people are waking up to the realization that government is not the solution, but the cause to many of the problems Americans have. People have grown weary of their empty promises and the Democrat Party has been losing their stranglehold on minority voters too, because Americans are tired of being used as pawns. I’m not saying Republicans are flawless, but at least they’re not actively trying to weaken America and turn citizens into obedient serfs.
I should mention, Tulsi Gabbard did not switch teams and is likely not wearing a MAGA hat any time soon, but she doesn’t need to. She stood up for her principles and as a woman who served this country, she could no longer be associated with a party that has turned decidedly unamerican. Democrats like Pelosi, Schumer, AOC, Harris and the people controlling Biden have no intention of making your life better. They just want a society with them at the top and the rest of us knowing our subservient roles. The Democrats are the party of government control. The Republicans are the party of free Americans.
It is a contradiction for anyone who has even the slightest amount of pride in America, perhaps just barely enough to be seen attending a 4th of July barbecue, to support the modern left. Gabbard finally came to grips with this realization this week and the American Socialists have one less prominent member in their ranks. But make no mistake, this America-loving patriot tried to make it work, but the Democrat Party stopped caring about their relationship with people like Tulsi Gabbard a long time ago.
What happens with all the first time republicans voters? The ones that have so much hope that this red tsunami that is coming will bring about a turn around, an end to crt and the trans gender movement being forced down our throats, all the liberal policies destroying our culture and society? The first time voters that don’t understand that Mitch McConnell, Lindsey graham, mitt Romney and Mehmet Oz and most of the limp twisted Republics won’t do anything for them? What happens to those voters?
I disagree that most republicans aren’t trying to weaken the country. I think there’s a handful out there actually working for us, but most know we are obedient serfs who watch Sean Hannity and The Five and just want to live comfortably and be left alone and will vote red every single time. The difference between the democrats and the republicans is republicans go the speed limit when they are driving the country towards a cliff vs the democrats that have the pedal to the metal. The only group that hates the American people more than the Democrat politicians is the Republican politicians. At least the democrats tell us what they are going to do and how they are going to destroy the country. The republicans tell us what we want to hear then go out and do the opposite and then tell us we need to donate to their re-election campaign so they can stop the liberal agenda.

I agree that there is little difference between the establishment Republicans and Democrats. The ones you mentioned are swamp creatures who are at best ambivalent to the destruction the Dems have caused over the past two years. However, I’m encouraged by the transformation the Republican party has seen since Trump. While Dems get more Communist, I see Liz Cheney and other establishment dinosaurs being shown the door. Trump changed the GOP probably more than any political party in history without changing the name. I think we’ll get majority in both chambers and like you, I just hope I’m not disappointed with the results. In Aikman’s words, they need to take off the dresses and take care of business, America First style.
I hope your right, but I don’t have much hope. I don’t really seeing any of these republicans standing up for Mike Lindell. I haven’t really heard trump or anyone speak up for the political prisoners from January 6th.
I just hope that I’ll be in the same gulag as you. Maybe it can even be named “The Red Wave”
