Nicolas Maduro, successor to the Hugo Chavez socialist regime in Venezuela, was brought to justice this weekend in a highly coordinated and spectacular display of US military capability. Of course, his arrest has stirred an uproar among Democrats who are understandably upset about the socialist dictator being removed from office during the same time that they push for socialism to take root here in the US. Other Americans, myself included, are having a hard time seeing any downside. Let’s review the facts.
After 25 years of socialist narco state oppression, Venezuelans are dancing in the street and crying tears of joy after Maduro’s arrest. After over a quarter century of deprivation, the Venezuelan people finally have a sense of hope and freedom.
It’s important to understand, this action taken by Trump is not Bush/Clinton era “nation building.” Venezuela isn’t a backward, stone age Muslim nation that we’re trying to turn into a constitutional republic, as seen in such disasters as Libya, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Before the disease of socialism took hold, Venezuela was a wealthy nation. With free elections, free speech, and competent economic management, they will be prosperous once again.
Next, the operation to take down Maduro was neither an invasion, nor a war. In fact, the entire mission took less time than it takes to watch The Godfather. No service members died in the operation, and the “war” that the paid protesters of the CCP-funded People’s Forum are screaming about, doesn’t exist. Furthermore, the fact that the targeted dictator was arrested, and not simply assassinated, demonstrates to the world this is not the old ad-hoc, back of the napkin, MIC regime toppling. This is Trump branded US justice and diplomacy. It will be done right, and it puts narco terrorists and dictators around the world on notice. They are advised to behave in a manner commensurate with 21st century western civilization freedom, or they could potentially realize the same fate.
Perhaps most importantly, the Trump administration just kneecapped China, Russia, and Iran’s influence in South America. Our enemies are now weaker. They will no longer be able to exploit western resources for their own benefit while the Venezuelan people starve.
Venezuela is believed to have more oil than anywhere else in the world. With competent, decentralized energy management, production should increase 10x, and that figure is just based off pre-Chavez production. It does not consider the boost that should be realized by applying modern technology from competing firms. That means cheaper energy for our hemisphere, especially for America, which makes sense. After returning freedom and prosperity to the Venezuelan people, the US will graciously accept any “breaker of chains” discount pricing on energy that Venezuela wishes to extend. This was undoubtedly part of Trump’s calculus, but given the other benefits of removing Maduro, it can hardly be seen as his only motivation. Though detractors who claim to be able to read Trump’s mind will continue to say it was his sole purpose.
Lastly, an estimated one million refugees fled Venezuela for the US over the past decade. Removing Maduro will motivate a great many of them to return home, helping reverse migration efforts and reducing the harmful expenses of Biden’s illegal immigration crisis.
President Trump removed a ruthless dictator who stole an election, imprisoned and tortured dissidents, and starved his own people. He handed the oil-richest nation’s resources back to the Venezuelan people. The entire western hemisphere will benefit from President Trump’s bold leadership. And the only people upset about it are China, Russia, Iran, and the miserable, hateful, mostly unfortunate looking leftists of this country, who would self righteously march with signs defending tumors if Trump cured cancer.
Let freedom ring.
Wow, this is so great. Your writing is outstanding but your perspective is even better. Thank you.
Thank you, I appreciate that.
