The Democrats figured if Donald Trump was in jail, or at least enough people thought he was a criminal, his electability would be near zero. However, their strategy of jurisprudence origami combined with throwing as much sh– against the wall to see if anything sticks is proving ineffective, at least in the eyes of the public.
Trump’s four indictments, some of which have been stretched from legal statutes historically reserved to bring down mafia members and the Klan, smack of both desperation and tyranny. The sympathy and support Trump has garnered as a result of this corrupt DOJ’s abuse of power is something only the hopelessly unaware elitist left could not have seen coming. Now, with the release of his mugshot, the martyrdom of Donald Trump has been elevated to legendary status. More of his supporters will buy t-shirts with that image than even the bitter, soulless Marxists who have called for Trump’s imprisonment for eight years.
So, what now? Did the whores in Biden’s DOJ irreversibly destroy the integrity of the justice department by weaponizing it against a former President only to see their nightmare of a fair election play out anyway? Will the rabid left stand by and watch America reelect Trump despite their exhaustive portrayal of him as a criminal? No. Don’t be silly.
The ruling uniparty’s newest effort to “protect democracy” will be to prevent millions of citizens from voting for their preferred candidate in the first place. Both Trump-deranged Democrats as well as Never-Trump Republicans have engaged political activist groups to petition Secretaries of State to exclude Trump from the primary ballot, citing Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. This clause bans anyone who has “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” from holding office. They argue this exclusion applies to Trump because Jan 6th was totally an insurrection.
There are a few problems with this. First, among the 91 counts against the former President, there is no insurrection charge, nor anything close to it. How can Trump be Constitutionally excluded from an election for being guilty of a crime for which he hasn’t even been charged? So-called experts are saying that a conviction or formal charge of insurrection is not actually necessary. In a convenient and remarkably un-American twist, they argue that the media’s characterization of Jan 6th as an unarmed, 90 minute attempt to overthrow the US government is sufficient cause to block Trump from Presidential contention.
Polling shows most Americans disagree, believing Jan 6th was simply a protest that got out of hand. This is much to the chagrin of the Democrats and their media who have worked tirelessly to sell Jan 6th as equally harmful to the country as 9/11. Of course, we now see the purpose of the grandiose hyperbole all along. It was never about January 6th. It was about November 5th and making sure Trump’s name is not on the ballot that day.
Why do those in power hate and fear this man so much that they are willing to seek such desperate measures? Those of us not foaming at the mouth in self-righteous hatred can recall the three pre-Covid years of Trump’s presidency as a wonderful time for America. We were as close to world peace as at any point since WW2. The markets did very well. Employment reached record levels. Wages were up, inflation was down, and we had energy independence. All this was done by a DC outsider who made it look easy. Trump solved problems instead of exacerbating them for more authority. He encouraged Americans to come together. He didn’t pit them against each other for political points. Trump didn’t play the DC elitist game. He didn’t bow to the deep state or military industrial complex. He fought for smaller government and more liberty for citizens. For these reasons, the establishment swamp despises him and will tear America down piece by piece if necessary to prevent Trump from ever being at her helm again.
This election will be different from the last. The ruling elites cannot count on lockdowns, millions of untraceable mail-in ballots, Zuckbucks, insecure drop boxes, or a social media monopoly to keep Trump from office this time. Even a hundred criminal charges aren’t slowing him down. Beyond frustrated, they now seek to simply remove his name from the ballot. And if they are successful in just a few key states, that is all it would take to once again rob the American people of their chosen leader. Make no mistake, the swamp is shameless, ruthless, and currently in full self-preservation mode, whatever the cost.
